 We are proud to announce that Tinker Juarez, legendary mountain bike racer and former World and National champion will again be competing at the 12 Hours of Razorback.  Tinker Juarez sponsored by Cannondale Bicycles, Mountain bike legend and mutli-National and World Champion will again be competing in the 12 Hours of Razorback on February 19th 2005.  Tinker first entered this event in 2002 and finished 1st place.  In 2003 he returned and finished second, in 2004 he again won a very close race.  We are very proud and honored that he has chosen to come back in 2005.

***Course will be a "tamed down" version of the normal Rarorback loop to accomodate a wider variety of riders and night riding but still maintain a full 10 miles per lap.***

SCHEDULE:  

                Friday:     9am to 5pm - Open riding / camping available   

                Saturday:     7am - Gates open   / 10am to 10pm - Team Race   / camping available 

                Sunday:    9am to 5pm - Open riding 

FORMAT:   Up to 4 person teams any rotation.  (see rules below for more information) 

CLASSES available    

12 Hour SOLO - Beginner / Sport / Expert  / Female / Single Speed

6 Hour SOLO - Male / Female

TEAMS - Beginner under 125 years of  age / Beginner over 125 years of age / Sport / Expert / Co-ed   

AWARDS:    Trophies, plaques and prizes to top 3 teams in each class, cash to top three overall 12 hour solo and expert teams.

DIRECTIONS:    Take I-75 exit # 358, go east 1/2 mile to CR25-A, turn left (north) and go 7 miles to 4 way stop, then turn right on CR316, park entrance is on the right after 3/4 mile.

General Rules

NORBA card or temporary license is required

Teams consist of up to 4 members.

Beginner under 125 year age is determined by the total age of all riders on team

Beginner over 125 year age is determined by the total age of all riders on team

No men Experts on Beginner teams.

No more than 1 men Sport per Beginner team.

No more than 1 men Expert per Sport team.

No men Experts & no more than 1 men sport on Co-ed team.

Co-ed must have at least 1 woman per team and can be all women.

The team race will begin with a Le mons style start.

Cutting of course or any form of cheating will result in automatic disqualification of entire team.

Team with most laps wins, tie breakers will be determined by fastest overall time.

Each racer must check in and out at scoring before continuing.

Each racer that begins a lap must finish the same lap.

Racer changes can only be made in the transition area.

Each team will be issued a "team water bottle" with team # on it.

Each racer must carry team water bottle for the entire lap.

Loss of team water bottle will result in a 10-minute penalty.

Transfer of team water bottle to next rider must be done only at scoring.

Each racer will receive a number plate and must be in place for each lap.

Loss of number plate will result in a 5-minute penalty.

All transfers of equipment must be done in transition area.

All bikes must pass visual safety inspection before entering race course.

Working headlight and taillight (or red reflector) must be used after dusk.

All on-trail repairs must be done by the racers themselves with no outside assistance.

All assisted repairs must be done in transition area.

Class eligibility is based on 2005 Norba status
