Cannondale Coconut Cup #4 - Markham Park - Sunrise, FL 1-24-10: The Coconut Cup series traveled to Markham park for the 4th round and the first race after the new year break.  Riders were greeted with tough but fun 6.8 mile loop that has seen many upgrades since our last visit.  Many of the wooden structures have been replaced along with a lot of dirt work made the course roll very nicely but it still kept the Markham flavor of being one of the most technical courses in this part of the country.  Weather was as you would expect in South Florida this time of year, perfect.  Many thanks to all of our sponsors and especially to Lee's Bicycle and Locksmith Shop for providing all of the swag to the riders.  Thanks as well to "The Usual Suspects" and the Mountain Bike Patrol who did an outstanding job as usual in shaping up the course and helping with the event.  Congratulations to all and especially to Bob McCarty and Tara Pizza who were the top male and female riders on the day.

Cannondale 12 Hours of Oleta - Oleta River State Park - North Miami, FL 1-2-10:  It was a wee bit cold but the sun was shinning and the trails were in great shape.  Temperatures were in the upper 40's at night and the lower 60's during the day, not what you would expect in Miami however it was great riding weather.  Many thanks to all of our sponsors and especially to Mack’s Cycle & Fitness, thanks as well to ORAA (the Oleta River Adventure Association) and of course thanks to the In Da House crew who also helped with the event!  Congratulations to Bob McCarty and Tara Pizza for their respective wins in the solo male and female classes respectively and congrats as well to all of the competitors.

2009 Specialized Florida State Championship series FSC #8 - Santos Trails - Ocala, FL 12-13-09: A great finish to the 2009 season mild temperatures greeted the racers and perfect course conditions thanks to Mother Nature and club OMBA.  The 6.5 mile course was a mix of fast flowing single track and two sections of technical riding to keep the riders on their toes.  There were many close finishes and many of the championships were decided at the finish line in some of the closest racing all season.  Thanks as well to all of the series sponsors and to Santos Trail Head Bike shop for providing all of the swag for medalists.  Ryan Woodall took control early of the  Men's pro / expert field and wrapped up another FSC title.  Shelly Allen took the win and the championship in the  Women's expert class.  The series Banquet was held latter on that evening to a packed house, besides all of the points championship awardees there special awards to the "Most Improved Rider" (Rafael Lee), the "Best Supporting Cast" (the Zimmerman family), the Sportsmanship "ESPO" award (Jorge Cortez).  Male Rider of the Year was Ryan Woodall and Female rider of the year was Shelly Allen.  Congrats to all!

cc3news.jpg (155447 bytes)   Cannondale Coconut Cup #3 - Amelia Earheart Park - Hialeah, FL 12-6-09: The Coconut Cup series is on a roll, the third round came to Hialeah with one of the biggest turnouts in years and weather reminded us all of why we love Florida so much this time of year.  Temperatures were mild and the rain held off and although the first lap or two saw some muddy spots the vast majority of the trail shaped up perfectly.  The race was also an all important make up race for the FSC series and it will be interesting to see how the points shape up leading into the finals next week in Santos .  Many thanks to all of our sponsors and especially to Mack’s Cycle & Fitness for bringing out the famed bicycle stunt rider Jeff Lenosky (he will by the way be performing at Santos as well).  The In Da House crew did an outstanding job as usual in shaping up the course and helping with the event, another big success!  Congratulations to Bob McCarty and Carolyn Van Vurst for their respective wins in the elite classes and congrats as well to all of the competitors.
