Michael Nixon and the "Magic Carpet Climb"

Cannondale Coconut Cup #3 - Amelia Earheart Park Trails - Hialeah, FL 12-5-10: Another perfect day in South Florida for the third round of the Coconut Cup series which also served as a make up race for the FSC, central and north Florida may have been getting hit with frigid weather but Hialeah was just right with temps in the 70's.  The trails have been revamped lately and the result was a lot of big smiles from the riders with the most common term heard was, it's like mountain bike Disneyland.  The swooping bermed turns, small jumps, and of course the new "golden gate" bridge were just some of the highlights.  Thanks to all of the volunteers for making the event a success.  Many thanks to all of the series sponsors.   Congratulations to all of the race winners and to Victor Alber and Ambre Levy who were the top male and female racers on the weekend.

The Pro/Experts Launch at San Felasco.

San Felasco LaunchSpecialized Florida px;State Championship series #6 - San Felasco Trails - Alachua, FL 11-14-10: Temperatures we in the thirties as the sun rose over the fields and trails of San Felasco but by race time things were just perfect for the sixth round of the series.  A sharp contrast from the last two rounds which were very technical, this course favored the power rider as the many short climbs taxed the riders each lap.  The folks from the Friends of San Felasco club who build and maintain the system laid out a 7 mile course and also worked the trail crossings for the safety of the riders, a job well done as usual.  Many thanks to all of the series sponsors and to The Super Cool Bike shop of Gainesville for providing all of the prizes for the event.   Congratulations to all of the race winners and to Ryan Woodall (now at 6 in a row in the men's expert / pro class) and Ambre Levy  (3 wins for her now) who were the top male and female racers on the weekend.  This weeks TXTsignal.com fastest lap award went to Ambre Levy in the women's expert class

Specialized Florida State Championship series #4 - Alafia River State Park Trails - Lithia, FL 10-24-10: Another great day at the races!  Despite very dry conditions the course held up well and the challenging layout had the racers commenting on how  it was a true test of a riders off road skills.  The nine mile loop had plenty of ups and downs and seemed to get progressively more technical as it made it's way around this popular trail system.  Thanks to all of the volunteers and to Art & Julianne North for making the race another success!
