Specialized Florida State Championship series #5 + ST  – Loyce Harpe park – Lakeland, Fl

Great weather and turnout for the fifth round  plus series short track and it was also a Coconut Cup make up, so a lot going on over the weekend in Lakeland. The Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Association had the 7.4 mile course in great shape even if it was a little dry (can’t control that) and the yellow wave and E mtb wave saw the addition of the “ Jerad’s revenge” section in just to spice things up a bit.

There was close action both days as Ryan Woodall claimed the Short Track overall win and Sunday’s XC elite overall while Patricia Doring claimed the ST female top spot. The battle for the Pemon Leaders jersey went to Tim Zimmerman in the men’s and we have a new leader in women’s as Patricia Doring finished  second place which was good enough to grab the jersey going into round #6 in San Felasco. Pauline Dockins took her first win of the series in the XC however.

The Gear Bicycle sales E MTB race top riders were Tim Zimmerman and Stephanie Lamer on the special (busier & shorter) E course.

In the team championship there is a new lead team as “Super fast rubber duckies” took over by four points. Mudder Ducker holeshot $50 awards went to Mikhael Ponso (xc-2 40+), Gilberto Araujo (xc-1 40+) and Nick Mackie (EMTB Expert). Many thanks to the all of the fine sponsors and volunteers.
