GSC wrap up in Jackson

Georgia State Championship series #5 – Dauset Trails – Jackson, Ga   Awesome finish to a another great season, the final this year was back at Dauset trails after a year of recovery from the terrible storm that hit the park last year. A hugh financial investment was committed to not just rebuilding the trails but also adding on new trails along with an integrated hub system that makes future race layouts much more flexible and safer. Many thanks to all those who made this possible as the park can now boast just shy of 50 miles of rock-em-sock-em mtb […]

GSC pulls into Chattanooga

Georgia State Championship series #4 – Enterprise South Nature Trails – Chattanooga, Tn   Just one more weekend of racing left to go after the fourth round of the series that took place in Chattanooga. The ESN park is a favorite on the circuit and for good reason, a fast flowing trail that has plenty of up hills and down hills but combines just the right amount of recovery in between making for what I describe as a “hero” trail because it makes you feel like you have put in lot’s of good effort and had fun but you don’t

FLE Wraps up at San Felasco

Florida Endurance series final – San Felasco trailhead – Alachua, Fl What was a very comfortable week of weather in the area turned a little more towards the feel of summer with temperatures in the 90’s and humidity returning for the weekend but overall not bad for this time of year. The trails were on the dry side but in good shape overall and the 10.45 mile course handed the racers plenty of challenges as always especially the seemingly relentless series of climbs. The Friends of San Felasco club was on top things as usual with course prep, course marshalling

Ripping laps at Conyers

Georgia State Championship series #3 – GIHP Trails – Conyers, Ga   Dodgie weather but it turned out perfect for the third round of the GSC series at Conyers, although we did get some rain on Friday the wet stuff held off the rest of the weekend and the racers were treated to a great course conditions and a bit of an unexpected cool off to boot, as temperatures dropped into the lower seventies for most of the day. The 7.1 mile course is always a fun and fast jaunt through the woods but it does provide a couple of

Zooming at CRoom

Florida Endurance series #6 – Croom Tucker Hill trailhead – Brooksville, Fl It was a fast one at Croom this year, much needed rains fell overnight soaking into the sandy patches and making for a perfect surface, plus the Croom Mafia trail crew had done a great job of prepping the course. The course was a 13.9 miles long per loop which meant two laps for the sprint racers and four laps for the marathon distance classes. Mark Delibertis took the win in the marathon open classes with a solid ride averaging 15.5 mph over the 55+ mile race, Morgan

Battlefield formations

Georgia State Championship series #2 – Brown’s Mill Battlefield Trails – Newnan, Ga   The first taste of Summer, not hot but close as temp’s climbed to the upper eighties but thankfully relatively low humidity and a breeze kept the racers comfortable. The 6.3 mile course was comfortable also, dry and a little slippery due to the pine needles but overall a fast fun trail that felt a lot like a pump track through the woods with a couple of moderate climbs thrown in. Racing was close in most classes from the youth racers on their one mile trail to

Rising from the swamp

Florida Gravel Grinder series #6 – Green Swamp West – Dade City, Fl The final round of the Scarbourgh Bicycle Accident Law Florida State Championship Gravel Grinder series presented by Trek Land o’ Lakes series was held near Dade City under a dry sky and drought conditions, so dust was a thing but more importantly the sand would be a factor. It had been a few years since the series had been at this location (2023 to be exact) and that proved to be a dry one as well, however since that time there have been some improvements to the
