Georgia State Championship series #4 – Allatoona Creek trails – Acworth, Ga

Dodging wet weather has been a challenge this season and we almost got away with a dry one at Acworth, the Saturday short track was perfect and dry however overnight the rains fell and although Sunday was Sunny the course was destined to be on the wet side. The 6 mile course contains a lot of turns, rocks and roots with some rolling climbs and descents and overall the trail was in good shape but the slick roots and some muddy spots keep the riders attention throughout the day. Dustin White took a close win over the rest of the men’s classes during the ST and Isabella Fountain took the women’s top medal. Sunday it was Nicholas Van Winkle that logged the fastest laps in the men’s and Iris McHaggee can claim the quickest of the women.
