Florida State Championship series #6 – San Felasco Trails – Alachua, Fl
Warm but nice conditions for the sixth round as the series moved into North Central Florida at the popular San Felasco trails. The 11 mile course is a fast flowie type with plenty of hills and single track to keep a rider on their toes. Many thanks to the Friends of San Felasco for prepping the trails and working the event, they did an amazing job clearing all of the downed trees that came down during the hurricanes!
The defending Elite champ Ryan Woodall (pictured) has started a win streak with two in a row and is rapidly moving up in the standings but it was Angel Rodriguez that grabbed the Ways leaders jersey and the points lead following a missed race by former leader Victor Alber. Yerany Morejon Gonzalez won her third race in the series and will carry the leaders jersey into round seven in Alva.
Team “Bike Parlor / MRI imaging specialist” had a good weekend and leads the team championship by 14 points. The Mudder Ducker $50 fast lap award went to Tim Zimmerman in the men’s E MTB expert class.
The E MTB series race was won by William Able in the men’s and Stephanie Lamer in the women’s.
Next event is at Caloosahattchee regional park in Alva on 11-24 which is also a Coconut Cup points race.
