Florida Gravel Grinder series #1 + Time Trial – Cary Forest Grind – Bryceville, Fl

A wee bit chilly it was! Saturday’s time trial was not too bad with temperatures in the forties and near fifty but Sunday with temps in the twenties overnight and still freezing by race start, yeah it was down right during most of the race. The sun did come out however and we managed to high a balmy 50 degrees by awards time. The SORBA Jax clubonce again helped out immensely,  and Champion Cycling was also on hand as the round sponsor and they handed out lot’s of prizes to the medalists, many thanks to all!

The 12 mile loop was fast this year and on Saturday’s individual time trial (one lap each) and was won this year by Osmay Rodriguez while Phoebe Maisto claimed the top female TT. Sunday the sprint distance riders would do three laps and the marathon distance was set for five laps.

The marathon open class saw atight shoot out with Owen Shott winning the fast lap $50 prime while Derek Shanze took the overall win. In the women’s field it was Jamie Rothhaug claiming the win.
