Georgia State Championship series TT#2 – Dauset Trails – Jackson, Ga
Tough stop on the GSC circuit weather wise, there was a 50% chance of rain over the weekend and that proved to be a bit of a conservative prediction. The area had been getting lots of rain recently but we were hopefull it would let up enough for us to get the fourth round and the second time trial off without too much disruption. Saturday’s TT was held on time but was still wet in many areas due to overnight rains however Sunday’s race had to be canceled as the bottom fell out during the dark hours and where over four inches of rain fell on the trail system. As we assessed the damage the next morning there were dozens of trees down, flooding on the trails near the creek and at least two bridges out of commission (the photo above is shot from where one of the bridges should have been).
But back to the TT on Saturday, Allen Mcrae stole the show with a time of 32:52 on the 7.5 mile course and Ryann Slechta claimed the win in the female overall.
The series has been shortened to a 4 race affair now with next weekend’s (Sunday June 22nd) Chattanooga becoming the fourth and final. There will be one drop so the best 3 out of 4 races will count (the final is required) and both of the TT’s count as well. Any pre entered riders have been automatically moved to the final race but refunds are available upon request.
