Florida State Championship series #2 – Hanna Park Trails – Jacksonville, Fl
The second stop on the FSC ’25 tour was in Jacksonville at the popular seaside Hanna park, the heat rolled back in this weekend along with the humidity which is kind of fitting for this jungle like trail system. The trails feature lot’s of twists and turns and is know as a rider’s course vs a power course. The surface was a bit on the dry side but other than that the SORBA Jax club had everything in great shape, they also marshaled the event, many thanks to all the volunteers and the club efforts!
The Shimano youth racers hit the tropical trails first at 8:30am and although not a long course certainly one of the more challenging of the series. At 9:30am the yellow wave elites hit the beachside trails in a flurry of pedals and spinning wheels, after all the sand settled it was multi time champ Ryan Woodall taking the win while his wife Darla Woodall did the same in the women’s top class. The result was a first ever (in Gone Riding history) husband wife sharing of the Neutral Service leaders jerseys on the podium.
Team“Muddy Santos Schredders” continues to lead the series team standings with a six point gap.
The Florida Comercial Appliance (Z-Boys) $50 fast lap went to Julio Gomez in the 40+ elite class and Champion Cycling sent out a number of primes to various classes including $100 in cash split four ways in the 11:30am white wave. Many thanks to all of the fine sponsors and the extra effort they put forth!
