Scarbourgh Bicycle Accident law Florida Gravel Grinder series #1 + TT#1 – Cary Forest Grind – Bryceville, Fl
Amazing weather for the opening round of Scarbourgh Bicycle Accident Law Florida State Gravel Grinder series presented by Trek Land o’ Lakes series. Cary Forest located in North Florida is a great location for gravel riding and racing and we were very glad we were able to make the switch from the originally scheduled weekend that was two weeks earlier because it would have been absolutely brutally cold conditions. So the riders were instead treated with low seventies and cloudy skies with some very fast newly serviced lime rock roads. The Sorba Jax club again provided needed support, many thanks to the crew.
Saturday the first of two individual time trials of the series was held featuring one full lap of the 14.6 mile course. Top male rider in the TT was Owen Shott with a time of 35.13 for a 24.9mph average speed while Jeanine Seeger logged the women’s fast time.
Sunday the marathon classes went off first and facing four laps the pace was surprisingly quick but in the end it was a three way breakaway that proved to be the move and Jason Marcotte getting the edge at the finish line. Meggie Schneider put in a strong ride over a talented women’s field to claim the marathon win. Top sprint riders on the day (two laps or 29.2 miles) were Zack Osborne male and Ana Soto female.
