Hustle time in Hialeah

Florida Endurance series #4 – Hialeah Hustle – Amelia Earhart trails – Hialeah, Fl

Mild temperatures by South Florida standards (70 degrees at start time) and some mid week rain helped maximize the traction and the Amelia Trail crew did the rest to make the fourth round of the FLE series (the Hialeah Hustle) a super fun and flowing ride through the jungle. If you have never ridden this course you owe it to yourself to take a fews spins around this popular trail in South Florida as it features lot’s of bermed turns and plenty of punchy climbs. The racers faced 5 laps in the sprint distance classes and the marathon classes faced a dizzing 10 laps.

The pace was hot right off the bat with small lead groups forming early in both wave starts with the long distance racers (marathon) going off first and the sprint distance folks starting about 10 minutes later. Marco Carrie came out on top in the marathon open class and Maria Ledesma was the women’s open winner. In the sprint classes it was Rodrigo Ferrer Assad taking the men’s win and his sister Valentina Ferrer Assad claiming the women’s sprint open win.

Many thanks to all of the sponsors, volunteers and racers for making the event a success.

Next FLE event is April 19th (the Hammer Head) in Ocala.
