Florida State Championship series #6 – San Felasco Trails – Alachua, Fl
Beautiful fall weekend in North Central Florida cool crisp air and fast dry conditions for the FSC racers at round six, the 11 mile course has had some recent maintenance thanks to the Friends of San Felasco trail crew and also many thanks to the club for keeping the riders safe by marshaling the event.
The San Felasco trail has some good climbing and a whole lot of flow and the racers may have laid down some trial record speeds on this Sunday. The course also had a long 11 mile loop and a short 5.5 mile loop and depending on the class riders would complete one or two longs and finish with the short version.
The battle for the win in the men’s elite quickly boiled down to three riders Reed Legg, Ryan Woodall and Yonathan Mejia, each leading one of the three loops but it was Reed Legg cracking the code and coming out on top in the end. Darla Woodall on the other hand cruised into the women’s win with a couple minutes to spare. Ryan and Darla continue to hold the Neutral Service leaders jersey going into round #7.
Team “Muddy Santos Schredders / Santos Bike shop” has increased their lead to 10 points in the team championship and the Zboys $50 fast lap award went to Yonathan Mejia in the men’s 19-39 expert class.
Next event is at Caloosahattchee regional park in Alva on 11-23 which is also a Coconut Cup points race.
