Coconut Cup series #1 + ST – Dyer Park – West Palm Beach, Fl

After a very rainy week the sun came out on Saturday afternoon just in time to hold the CC series Short track event on a relatively dry course (top of the hill) with nearly eighty riders dukeing it out for the all important bonus points. The best of the men’s advanced wave (yellow number plates) was Angel Rodriguez and Mayra Tomazoni edged out her competitors for the women’s win. In the men’s second wave (white number plates) it was Vitor Machado taking the overall. Sunday the rains held off again and the riders were treated to good conditions despite all of the week’s wet weather as the course was adjusted slightly to avoid some of the flooded areas while still maintaining a 6 mile loop.

The trail system at Dyer park is different than most as it feels like two different courses, having a flat tropical forest feel with lot’s of turns and canopy and the other having a climbing and descending feel with fast flowing bermed turns.

Sunday the yellow wave was the first to hit the full course and taking his second win of the weekend was Angel Rodriguez in the men’s elite class while Mayra Tomazoni did the same in the women’s top class.. Next CC race of the series is October 11th at Quiet Waters park in Deerfield Beach which will also be an FSC race.
