Florida State Championship series #7 / Coconut Cup #2 – Caloosahatchee Trails – Alva, Fl
Although South Florida has seen some extremely heavy rains recently plus hardy summer growth that engulfs the trails, the course at this park just North Ft Myers was in great shape thanks to the Mudcutters club volunteers and Lee county staff’s hard work in recent weeks. The eleven mile race loop features some fast and flowing single track and some punchy technical sections and this year it was perhaps in the best shape ever.
Ryan Woodall took the win (five in a row now) and also claimed the Pemon leaders jersey for the first time this season. Erica Stehouwer won the women’s cat 1 class, however Patricia Doring will continue to carry the Pemon Leaders jerseys into the final round in Ocala with her second place finish.
Team Super Fast Rubber Duckies holds a 7 point lead in the team competition but keep in mind the drop races & individual make up points have not been factored in, that will be after the make up race in Hialeah.
The Gear Bicycle sales E MTB series race was won by Stephanie Lamer in the women’s and Tim Zimmerman took the men’s win by a wheel.
Next event is a Coconut Cup & FSC make up (both the TT & the XC) 12-2/3-23 in Hialeah!
