Florida State Championship series #2 – Hanna park – Jacksonville, Fl
Rain, rain went-away, in a favorable turn of what looked like a very wet day (the local weather forecast was for rain on and off all day), the sun came out and the racers were greeted with a very nice race course with only a few puddles to navigate. The SORBA JAX club once again provided a bunch of great volunteers to help with parking and trail duties, many thanks!
A good turnout for the Shimano Youth / kids race which features a one mile long lap that jaunts through the jungle-like trails and keeps the young ones focused on many turns and roots combinations to quickly get around the course, skill, speed, and smiles were the order of the day. The big race loop was on the long side at 7.7 miles but it must have thousands of left and right turns in it and keeps the riders on their toes for sure. Many thanks to all of the sponsors and especially Fields Auto Group who brought out two very nice vehicles to showcase for the participants.
Ryan Woodall and Simone Berger (both pictured) took the stage once again to put on the Pemon leaders jersey’s which honors the current top male and female racers of the series. Both are current FSC champions and both now have solid leads going into round three and have done so by winning each of the rounds and bonus rounds so far (is there a perfect season in the works?)
Leroy’s Lynx are the lead team in the FSC team championship with 267 pts after two rounds.
FSC #3 / CC #1 will be at Markham park in Sunrise on 10-9, should be a good one!
