Georgia State Championship series #2 – Brown’s Mill Battlefield Trails – Newnan, Ga  

The first taste of Summer, not hot but close as temp’s climbed to the upper eighties but thankfully relatively low humidity and a breeze kept the racers comfortable. The 6.3 mile course was comfortable also, dry and a little slippery due to the pine needles but overall a fast fun trail that felt a lot like a pump track through the woods with a couple of moderate climbs thrown in.

Racing was close in most classes from the youth racers on their one mile trail to the experts on the full course but in the end it was Flint Drummond that proved to be the fastest of the day by way of winning the expert 19-39 class by less than a half a second (yes that is close). Ryann Slechta took top honors in the women’s classes topping the women junior class and top female overall.
