Lot’s going on this past weekend starting with the Coconut Cup time trial on Saturday and then the XC race on Sunday, both events were also make up races for the FSC which meant there were numerous North Florida riders (“North” meaning North of West Palm Beach) there to gather as many points as possible before the final FSC showdown in Ocala. The weather was absolutely awesome with temps in the low eighties and lot’s of sunshine. If you have never ridden this course you are missing out as it is a funfest with ton’s of unique features and flow. The Amelia Trail Crew once again did an outstanding job setting up for the race as well as marshaling, many thanks!
Saturday the TT started at 3pm and it was Bob McCarty taking the top male spot with a 23:09 time while Jennifer Moos claimed the women’s highest finish, the course was the same course they would be racing the next day at 6.75 miles per lap so the riders and spectators got a nice preview of what was to come on Sunday. Sunday was super competitive for most of the classes and on this day we saw a repeat of the previous day with Bob McCarty and Jennifer Moos both taking double wins on the weekend. Next week is of course the FSC final and Coconut Cup make up race in Ocala which promises to be an exciting one and dare we predict but good weather is projected there as well.
