Georgia State Championship series #2 – Georgia International Horse Park – Conyers, Ga
It felt like two different days but it wasn’t, a cold 30 degrees and frost to start the day and then a beautiful sunny 70 degrees by mid afternoon and in between was perfect mtb racing conditions for both the trail and the racers. The 7 mile course which was the site of the first ever mountain bike competition in the Olympics in 1996 is always a special challenge with the numerous ups and downs and ripping fast single track.
Tallon Flynn of North Carolina once again took the win in the men’s categories while Mackenzie Myatt from Canada climbed to the top of the box in the women’s cat 1 field. Thanks to all of the series sponsors and to all that attended and braved the chilly start, next GSC race is April 24th at Winder, always a classic!
