Florida Endurance series #7 – Haile’s Trails – Newberry, Fl
What was feared to be a washout weekend turned out pretty nice with the rains holding off on Saturday making the Sunday course near perfect for the final FLE race of the ’22 season. It was warm, maybe a little hot but not the normal sweltering heat for the middle of June in Florida, so all in all good conditions for the race. The course was one of the shortest on the season at just a little over 5 miles per lap but this place always packs a punch with its short but steep and technical climbs. There is a lot of skill and effort that goes into completing a lap at Hailes and a good showing here means a lot to the racers.
Taking the overall marathon wins on the day were Ryan Woodall (men’s) and Patricia Doring (women’s) while in the sprint overall it was Rafael Segura and Pauline Dockins. The series overall championship awards were also handed out after the races and the top marathon male was Bob McCarty and Patricia Doring took the women’s title. In the Sprint series championship it was Ceejay Moody with the champs jersey and Pauline Dockins claiming the women’s series jersey. Congrats to all and many thanks to all of the fine series sponsors that made it happen!
