Georgia State Championship series #3 – Ft Yargo State Park – Winder, Ga
Amazing weather and beautiful scenery sums up round three at Ft Yargo. The course was a little longer this year at 12 miles and featured a few more climbing sections but as always the trails keep you grinning the whole way. The “monster mile” section was included this year again and although most of the section is downhill somehow it doesn’t feel that way as it has lots of challenging ups with some techie sections sprinkled in and when you do complete it you would swear it was two miles.
New winners this weekend with Jeremy Brock topping the men’s classes and Carolyn Maddox winning the women’s overall. Many thanks to all of the fine sponsors and special thanks to team Apex Junior Development for pulling the volunteer duties at the road crossings. Next round will be May 5th at Dauset Trails in Jackson.
