Coconut Cup series #4 / FSC make up – Amelia Earhart Trails – Hialeah, Fl

Mild temperatures and sunny sky greeted racers from both the FSC and CC series for the fourth round of the Coconut Cup south Florida series presented by Floridabikecrashlaw.com, which was also a make up for the Florida State Championship series. For FSC racers it was a last chance to replace any lower or missed scores for both the XC races and the bonus points rounds. The trails were in great shape (thanks to the Amelia Trail Builders Club), with a few new dirt sculptures and a very flowy yet punchy feel, definitely a challenging 6.8 miles per lap.

Saturday the individual time trial was held at 3pm and Antonio Guzman walked away the overall top male rider with a time of 24:30 and Simone Berger claimed the women’s first position.

Sunday’s fields were big in most cases and some very intense battles were waged but at the end of the day it was Victor Alber taking the men’s elite win and Simone Berger repeated her pervious day’s success with the women’s elite overall.

The Gear Bicycle sales E MTB series race was won by Dawn Laido in the women’s and Tim Zimmerman took home the competitive men’s expert class medal.
