Florida State Championship series #3 / Coconut Cup #1 – Markham park – Sunrise, Fl
Markham park in the fall, always a great time of year to ride a bike and to have the FSC and CC series face off head to head for some of the most competitive bike competition in the state. The Markham park trail crew worked up a 6.3 mile course for this round and with just the right amount of rain on Saturday night the kids races and the yellow first wave were in prime shape, the 11:30 white wave however was another story as a taste of summer showers rolled in right as the racers were getting ready to start.
The elite men’s class was the closest it has been all season with a different leader every lap but it was Ryan Woodall finding himself in the lead on the lap that counted for his 3rd win in a row. Jennifer Moos won the women’s expert class by topping current champ and points leader Simone Berger. The Pemon Cycling FSC Leaders Jerseys stayed on the shoulders of Woodall and Berger however at the end of the day.
Leroy’s Lynx is proving to be the club to beat this year in the team competition; they hold a 20 point edge after 3 rounds of the FSC.
Also please keep an eye on our events schedule as hurricane Ian has forced some changes to both the FSC and CC schedules (more info coming soon). https://goneriding.com/events-and-results/
