Florida State Championship series #4 – Vortex Trails – Ocala, Fl

The crispness of fall weather is upon the FSC series, arriving just at the halfway point in Ocala, it was sweatshirts in the morning and t-shirts in the afternoon and perfect weather for the fourth round of the series. The trail layout was in some ways similar to the annual 12 hours of Santos but a little shorter and with some different twists that had even some of the locals scratching their heads. It was also a bit on the long side at 7.5 miles and was filled with lot’s of techy sections in the first half and fast flowing trails the second.

The elite men’s class was owned by Ryan Woodall (local favorite & points leader) and women’s points leader Simone Berger held court in her class as well. No surprise that the Pemon Cycling FSC Leaders Jerseys stayed put this week as they have since the series opener.

Team Leroy’s Lynx had a good day in the team competition as they extended their points lead once again.

The top E MTB racers on the day in the Gear Bicycle Sales E Bike series were Rogerio Filho in the men’s open class and Kelly Jones took the win in the women’s.

Next event is 10-30-22 at San Felasco trails in Alachua!
