Coconut Cup series #6 – Markham park – Sunrise, Fl

Just a few weeks ago iguanas were falling from the trees due to the cold but not this weekend, instead the series was treated with a picture perfect South Florida scenario with mild temps, partly cloudy skies and super fun trails. The Markham park trail crew had a 6.75 mile course ready for the riders and worked hard before, during and after to make the whole event a success.

Racing kicked off at 8:30am with a large contingent of youth racers on a short but challenging 2.2 mile loop while the yellow wave hit the full loop at 9:30am with the advanced cat 1 and cat 2 racers. Marco Carrie claimed the win in the men’s elite field and Jennifer Moos was the winner in the women’s top class. The white wave started with bang (or maybe it was a whistle) and Roberto Ramirez logged the fastest time and Sophie Pinzon was the women’s winner.
