Georgia State Championship series #4 – Dauset trails – Jackson, Ga

Middle of May now and the weather has been awesome, after a cold start to the series it is nice to feel the warmth but we have the feeling it is going to get really hot for the next few rounds. The trails were awesome also as the trail crew at Dauset have been working extra hard at some major reroutes and expansion with the “Pine mtn” trail as an excellent example, it nearly doubled in length and is much more flowy and smooth now. The race course was set at 7.3 miles with the first half fast and then progressively more technical as the route winded down.

Michael Mace hammered out 4 laps and the win in the men’s elite class and Abby Hobbs placed her marker on the women’s top class with a solid win. Many thanks to all of the volunteers and staff at Dauset trails and to all of the sponsors, racers and families that make the series happen.
