Coconut Cup series #6 – Markham Park – Sunrise, Fl
It has been over a year since the series has been to Markham park and it was good to be back especially with the great weather and trail conditions. The Markham park trail building club has done a lot of great work restoring and maintaining the system and they put together a fast, flowing course for the racers which was right at 6.9 miles per loop. Although rain was expected (it did hold off till after the race) so there were a few wooden options that were taken out but it was a super fun trail either way, many thanks to the crew!
Julio Gomez came away with the overall in the men’s expert class and Jennifer Moos put a stamp on the women’s expert field with a strong ride. Fastest lap of the day was claimed by birthday boy Bob McCarty in the 50+ expert class with a 25:47 on his last lap which must have felt like a little icing on the cake so to speak.
Next CC and final race of the series is April 7th at Quite Waters park in Deerfield Beach.
