Florida State Championship series #2 – Kathryn Abby Hanna park – Jacksonville, Fl

It was a hot one in Hanna this past weekend as the summer temperatures and humidity continue to hang around, there was lots of cloud cover however but that lead to a wee bit of rain for the last wave of the day making it, well even more humid, oh well at least we were close to the beach.

The racing at Hanna is always a challenge and local knowledge is of high value, as there are literally hundreds of turns and thousands of roots the riders have to navigate at speed, so knowing the right lines and having the right strategy is key. The SORBA Jacksonville club was outstanding as always and had the trail in super shape and also worked the event parking and traffic, many thanks to the crew!

The 7.7 mile race jungle course could be raced anywhere from one to four laps depending on the class and in the men’s elite class it was Ryan Woodall completing the required four in the best time while Calah Drake would lay claim to the best of the women’s classes with a healthy 2 minute gap at the end.

Team “The Beast Battalion 2026” now has a 7 point lead after two rounds in what is shaping up to be a very competitive team championship. The Neutral Service leaders jersey saw Ariel Edens on the podium for her second week in a row and she was joined by the new men’s leader and defending champ Ryan Woodall.

Next event is at Dyer park in West Palm Beach for the Coconut Cup series opener on 10-3/4 followed by round three of the FSC in Deerfield Beach on 10-11.
